PACT – the electronic trading initiative from eparts and TecAlliance – has become a finalist in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards.

As the only automotive IT solutions provider in the awards, PACT is in the running for Services Company of the Year, which is awarded to recognise excellence in the provision of IT systems. The winner will be a supplier of hardware, software and/or IT services that has achieved significant business success in the past 12 months, and can demonstrate high levels of customer satisfaction and business benefits from the users of its products and services.

Mark Rudge and Peter Hollowood of PACT will attend a judging day on 25 September before attending the awards dinner on 18 November at Battersea Park Events Arena in London.

The PACT initiative has been instrumental in driving home efficiencies in the automotive aftermarket with the automation of parts availability enquiries and orders. PACT has successfully connected over 2000 motor factors with more than 80 suppliers.

By implementing PACT technology into the supply chain with buyers and suppliers, PACT capability enables motor factors and suppliers to communicate and trade more effectively as all ordering processes are automated and seamlessly transacted into a business’s management system.

Mark Rudge, eparts director: “It’s great that PACT is being recognised for the significant contribution it has made to the automotive aftermarket. It has helped shaped the way the industry connects and trades together and brought about serious costs savings and efficiencies.”

Paul Fletcher, Group CEO, BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT said: “As the Chartered Institute for IT, I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering economic and societal benefit.”
